Dr. Pius O. Ojevwe, Psy.D. | President/CEO

Dr. Ojevwe is a clinical-forensic psychologist who is licensed to practice in Maryland, Washington DC, and New York. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree of psychology from St. John’s University, New York and completed his doctorate in clinical psychology with a sub-specialty in forensic psychology at the American School of Professional Psychology/Argosy University in Arlington Virginia. Dr. Ojevwe has extensive experience in assessment and treatment of adolescents and adults with a wide range of psychological difficulties including depression, anxiety, trauma, personality dysfunction, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorders, and behavioral/conduct difficulties and learning disabilities. Dr. Ojevwe also has expertise in forensic risk assessment and treatment of sexual and violent offenders. He is presently employed full-time at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Washington, DC where he serves as a clinical psychologist/team leader providing forensic assessment and treatment to individuals who have been found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity and those awaiting competency to stand trial. He also serves as a faculty in the psychology training department of St. Elizabeths Hospital providing training to doctoral and post-doctoral trainees, and is an adjunct faculty at Walter Reed Army Medical Center forensic psychology fellowship program. Dr. Ojevwe also serves as a clinical/forensic consultant to various local mental health organizations and has been a consultant/contractor with the Department of Juvenile Services in Maryland and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for the past several years. In the past, Dr. Ojevwe has served as an adjunct faculty at the University of Maryland Baltimore County Campus (Clinical Psychology Doctorate Program/Department) and as a guest lecturer at various local colleges and universities including Georgetown University, Argosy University, Prince George's County Community College, among others.

Michael A. Jordan, LCSW-C/LICSW | Vice President

Mr. Jordan is a clinical social worker who is licensed to practice in Maryland and Washington DC. He serves as the co-founder and Vice President of COMPASS Mental Health Consultants, LLC. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland and  received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland in Baltimore. Mr. Jordan has extensive experience in the community working with children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of mental health concerns. He has worked with local school systems, families experiencing crisis, as well as sex offender and co-occurring disorder populations. Presently, Mr. Jordan is employed full-time at Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center in Jessup, Maryland, where he has served for over ten years as a Forensic Clinical Social Worker providing inpatient mental health treatment to sex offenders and mental health patients who have been adjudicated Not Criminally Responsible, Not Competent to Stand Trial, have been Involuntarily Committed and who have been ordered by the court system to undergo pretrial evaluations. Mr. Jordan generally provides treatment to patients at Perkins suffering from Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Personality Dysfunctions, Traumatic Brain Injuries and Developmental Disabilities. Mr. Jordan also serves as a consultant/contractor with the Department of Juvenile Services in Maryland. Mr. Jordan’s clinical experience extends through a variety of clinical settings facilitating therapeutic group interventions as well as providing individual therapy.

Perryn Gutkowski, LCSW-C serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Clinical Operations of COMPASS. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in social sciences with a focus in psychology and a minor in Humanities from Hofstra University in Long Island, New York and subsequently received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University in Long Island, New York. Ms. Gutkowski has been a practicing clinician for ten years providing individual, family, and group psychotherapies.  She has extensive experience in working with adults, adolescents, and children with a wide range of psychological and behavioral difficulties as well as substance abuse issues. Ms. Gutkowski prides herself on offering services which match the needs of her clients. As a clinician, she continuously strives to build on her clients’ strengths, foster their sense of autonomy and independence, and improve the quality of their lives. Her professional interests include writing, cultural awareness and sensitivity and professional development for mental health graduates trainee.
